Ron Sanford
Having "kicked around" the Art World since the 1960's, Ron has in the past been represented by galleries, "hung" in juried and non-juried shows, had news articles written about him and his artistic style, and is hanging in many private collections throughout the greater Western U.S.
Ron is a graduate of CSULB's fine arts program, recognized as in the top 15% of all U.S. colleges and universities for fine arts. Ron spent a total of six years between his undergraduate and graduate programs honing his craft, only interrupted in 1969 - 1970, for a stint in the U.S. Army.
Ron has always been attracted to both the visual and performing arts, as evidenced below.
Ron's surname, Sanford, has its origins in 800 A.D. Norse, "Sandyfjord" (meaning sandy crossing or sandy beach). Having traced his heritage back through the ages, it appears his ancestors "went Viking" along well-known sea routes. His love of the ocean, like that of his ancestors, is apparent. Ron has been an avid surfer, paddleboarder and all around waterman since 1957, when at the age of seven his mom couldn't watch him surf, even though she drove him to the beach almost daily.
Ron signed his artworks as RMSSandy for decades, not wanting his business and art worlds to collide. Ron now signs his artwork simply as "Ron" in Elder Futhark, Viking runes, as a tribute to his lineage, and his love of the ocean.
Much of Ron's art is appraised by "Appraisily", an independent art appraisal firm, who has appraised over 100,000 works of art and appraises art for Christie's and Sotheby's Auction Houses. In their appraisal report of Ron's work using professional benchmarks set forth by the International Society of Appraisers, Ron is known for his unique style of Modified Pointillism and his works are "a valuable addition to any art collection".
As far as "blow-by-blow" details of his past accomplishments, Ron feels that ART should speak for itself, and not be governed by what someone's resume is or isn't. If collectors appreciate what they see, that is what ART should be all about.
